Building Community Through Music

Passion and Purpose drives Passion and Purpose! - Nicholas B. Haffter Von Heide

With starting a new venture, being business or subject, one should always have four things:  Passion, Purpose, an open mind and a teachable spirit.  Having a background in Music has provided my family a way of living and a way of thinking that transcends most cultural thought.

After my contract was completed with the US Army, Band(Euphonium), we moved eventually to Corpus Christi, Texas.  Years of trials and lessons, the economy good and bad, Back Row Brass was forged.  There was and still is a tremendous need for collaboration within the disciplines of teaching and learning music, as well as much of life.  We cannot do it all on our own, it is nice to say we did, but it truly does take a community like this to establish and reach out to the newcomers to our discipline of music.

It is interesting to note that the most successful individuals and organizations didn't build themselves, they built communities in which sustained their discipline and/or practice.  We need that, and we would like to help facilitate that here, not only in South Texas, but Globally.  School music programs are on the chopping blocks across the US, trying to survive with statistics and research; we need not look at survival, but thriving to where the community is active and living.

We are always looking for those who have the passion and purpose of music education to help build our community through music.  No matter if you haven't picked up an instrument or sang in a choir, you have input here:  Leadership, Teamwork, Time Management, Organization, Metal Working, Wood Working, Filing, etc.; are all skills we need to augment each and every program.  With your skills and expertise, we believe that you can make an impact within your area and our community.

Please join our community on Google+ to include YouTube.  We need your help to make this community happen and excel, share and get your friends involved as well.  Thank you.
